DirectionsA Concrete Construction Special Inspector is a person qualified to inspect and record the results of concrete construction inspection based on codes and job specifications. The program covers inspection during pre-placement, placement, and post-placement operations.
A Concrete construction Inspector-in-Training is a person who is knowledgeable about inspection procedures for concrete construction, including pre-placement, placement and post-placement operations; but does not have the experience required to qualify as an ACI Concrete Construction Special inspector.
The programs requires a knowledge of concrete construction, including plans reading, formwork installation and removal, reinforcements, embedments, sampling and testing freshly mixed concrete, conveying, placing, consolidation, finishing, jointing curing, and protection.
This 4-day course includes training by Luke Snell and all reference materials.

- Moisture correction at the batch plant
- How to be successful on a Certification Exam
Day 2 - April 7
- Measuring, Mixing, Transporting Concrete

- Consolidating Concrete
- Floor and Slab Concrete Construction
- Hot Weather Concrete
- Cold Weather Concrete
- Introduction to Formwork
- Specification for Concrete
- Design Code for Concrete
Day 3 - April 8
- Fundamentals of Reinforcement Placement
- Detail of Reinforcement Inspection
- Introduction to Plan Reading
- Responsibilities of the Special Inspector
- Review of Homework Assignments and Practice Exams
Day 4 - April 9
- Optional Pre-Exam Review and Q&A Sesion (8:00am-9:00am)
- Open-Book Written Exam (9:00am-12:00pm)
- Closed-Book Exam on Plans (12:00pm - 1:00pm)
